Job Overview:
Mechanical Technician required for a well-established Civil Engineering Contractor. This is a great opportunity for a plant engineer or someone with experience working on vehicles looking to take a step into construction plant. The company offers great training opportunities whilst providing a days-based role.
Responsibilities:
1. Carry out maintenance on all plant machinery including vehicles and equipment from larger excavators to small plant, tools, and generators.
2. Mechanical and electrical maintenance repair of plant and associated equipment.
3. Focus on maintenance and repairs where required.
4. 70% workshop based, 30% field based.
Qualifications:
1. Mechanically biased with NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent / above) in a related mechanical subject.
2. Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics is ideal.
3. Background in working with plant, HGVs, motor mechanics (car/van), small tools (including garden machinery) or similar.
Work Environment:
Working within a team of eight, you will spend around 70% of your time in the workshop and 30% in the field. The company visits client sites throughout the UK, however, the field-based work is predominantly at sites along the southeast coast. The company can operate on a 24/7 basis, and you will occasionally be asked to work overtime including weekends. #J-18808-Ljbffr
