Finance Director (No1) Core3 have partnered with an ambitious, high end, multisite services business to appoint a Finance Director. Offering up to £115,000 Bonus Shares/Equity (on negotiation) Remote/Hybrid - Minimum of 2 days per month onsite at their HQ in the Glasgow area Why join our client? Our client is a well-funded services business that operates multiple sites across Scotland and North England. Their current revenue is just under £10mill per year, with a 3-year strategy to increase that to £20mill revenue. The owners of the business have an incredible reputation in their field. They're passionate people, well recognised, and the business has a strong brand and is very well positioned for growth with highly regarded investors onboard. Their facilities have won awards as some of the best in the UK. How you'll make an impact This is a brand-new Finance Director role reporting to the MD, with a dotted line into the Owner. The ability to make an impact in this role is huge. The business has grown quickly, expanding their facilities/sites, welcoming an influx of new customers, and leveraging key commercial partnerships that will accelerate their growth. To keep focus on what they do best, until now, finance has been outsourced. This role is tasked with bringing that in-house, growing a fit-for-purpose finance function, and leading on strategic finance and commercial initiatives such as raising capital for new site acquisitions and managing a refinancing process in circa 12 months. Why our client is excited about you Our client is looking for a Finance Director with a very strong understanding of how a high-end, customer-centric services business operates. They need someone who can see the bigger picture and operate as a strategic partner to the leadership team but at the same time is comfortable getting their hands dirty, acting as both FC and FD initially to get the basics in place, before building out a team to take over BAU. This isn't the right role for a hands-off FD/CFO who wants to dictate. The first 12 months is in the boardroom and in the weeds, in equal measure. It will suit a typical SME FD. The right Finance Director for this role will have: An accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) A proven track record working in a lower margin, operational, customer-centric services business. Think physical retail, hospitality, fitness/leisure facilities, dental/healthcare/veterinary clinics, care homes etc. Experience working as the No1 or 'senior' No2 in finance for a smaller business. Likely under £40mill revenue, ideally with more than one operational site. An eye for controlling cost - from both an operational efficiency and CAPEX/investment perspective. The ability to introduce an effective forecasting and budgeting process across the group The desire to become part of the senior leadership team from day one - able to demonstrate the ability to communicate with investors, banking partners, and own a refinancing process. What you'll get in return This is a unique opportunity to truly 'own' the finance function, with the visibility and influence to become invaluable quickly, and to be rewarded well for your contribution. The compensation package is: £85,000 - £115,000 (dependent on exp) Lucrative Bonus Shares/Equity (on negotiation) Enhanced Pension Private Medical Other Benefits Remote Working, with fortnightly f2f meet-ups We invite applications from all qualified candidates who believe they meet the requirements of the role, whilst supporting and promoting equality and diversity to create an inclusive working environment for all.
