SHEQ Director
Slough | £90,000 plus Car Allowance & Excellent Benefits
Irwin and Colton have been engaged by a high-profile specialist construction contractor to recruit their HSEQ Director. The organisation's turnover is in the region of £70m and they are seeking a safety professional who can ensure their Health and Safety program continues to deliver to the highest standard. This individual will be required to lead by example, being visible across the organisation from site level to the Boardroom.
Responsibilities for the SHEQ Director will include:
1. Leading the Health and Safety team ensuring the successful delivery of the strategy on site
2. Engaging with senior managers, clients, and external stakeholders ensuring responsibilities are clear and answering technical health and safety related enquiries
3. Continually developing and reviewing the health, safety management system in line with the industry's best practice
4. Conducting major health and safety incident investigations to identify root causes and making recommendations to prevent reoccurrence
The successful SHEQ Director candidate will have:
1. Proven leadership experience in a similar role ideally within construction, civil engineering, demolition, waste or a related industry
2. Experience in influencing, engaging and coaching senior management and site level operations
3. A strong technical knowledge across relevant health and safety legislation, compliance, and regulations
