Job Description
Role Overview:
As a CAMHS Nurse, you will be a key member of our multidisciplinary team, providing assessment, care, and treatment for children and young people with mental health needs. You will use your clinical expertise to deliver therapeutic interventions, build trusting relationships with young patients, and support them and their families through their mental health journey. You will be an advocate for children and adolescents, ensuring that they receive the highest standard of care in a supportive, safe environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for children and adolescents in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
* Develop and implement individual care plans, collaborating with other professionals as necessary.
* Provide therapeutic interventions, including psychological support and crisis management.
* Work closely with families and caregivers, providing guidance and support to improve mental health outcomes.
* Monitor and assess patient progress, adapting care plans as needed.
* Offer education and guidance to patients, families, and other staff about mental health and well-being.
* Promote a safe and supportive environment, ensuring patient dignity and respect at all times.
* Keep up-to-date with the latest mental health practices, guidelines, and policies to ensure high-quality care.
Key Requirements:
* Registered Nurse (RN) with active NMC registration.
* Experience in mental health nursing, preferably within CAMHS or child/adolescent mental health settings.
* Strong clinical and assessment skills with the ability to manage complex situations.
* A compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with children, adolescents, and families.
* Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
* Knowledge of current mental health practices, policies, and frameworks.
* A commitment to ongoing professional development and training.
