The Person: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Process Specialist to join our team base in Nuneaton. In this role, you will be responsible for driving improvements in operational processes, particularly within New Product Development (NPD), and defining the centre lines for production processes. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that product development timelines, quality standards, and operational efficiencies are met, and help establish best practices that contribute to overall business growth. Key Responsibilities: 1. Process Improvement: - Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives across NPD and operational processes. - Identify areas of inefficiency, waste, or quality concerns and implement corrective actions to streamline processes. - Use Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies to analyse and improve workflows, productivity, and cost-efficiency. 2. New Product Development (NPD) Support: - Work closely with R&D, Engineering, and Production teams to ensure smooth integration of new products into operational processes. - Define and optimize manufacturing processes for new products, ensuring they are scalable and efficient. - Assist in the transition of NPD projects from concept to full-scale production, ensuring timelines and quality standards are adhered to. 3. Centre Line Definition: - Develop and define critical process parameters and centre lines for NPD and ongoing production to ensure consistency, quality, and repeatability. - Establish process control systems, monitor process performance, and adjust centre lines as necessary to maintain product quality. 4. Collaboration & Cross-Functional Coordination: - Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Innovation, quality control, supply chain, etc.) to align on process requirements and improvement goals. - Provide training and guidance to team members and operational staff on best practices and process standards. - Foster a culture of continuous improvement by facilitating problem-solving sessions and sharing insights. 5. Documentation & Reporting: - Document process improvements, process flow changes, and centre line specifications in clear and accessible formats. - Report on key performance metrics and process performance, providing recommendations for further optimization. - Ensure compliance with all regulatory and quality standards in process documentation. 6. Other Duties: - Stay current with industry trends, process improvement methodologies, and technological advancements that could enhance operational performance. - Participate in NPD reviews and other meetings to offer expert insights and contribute to decision-making processes. Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). - Proven experience (3 years) in process improvement, NPD, or operational roles, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment. - Strong knowledge of process improvement tools (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen) and methodologies. - Experience in defining and implementing centre lines and process controls. - Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and levels. - Knowledge of relevant regulatory and industry standards (ISO, GMP, etc.). - Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
