Our Financial Accountant will be responsible for the external reporting of the organisation, including leading an effective and efficient external audit. Additionally, takes responsibility for the organisation regulatory returns and costings to all areas of the organisation for tenders and reviews of current business areas. The post also holds responsibilities for specific areas of financial and management accounting and provides cover for both the Finance Business Partner and the Senior Accountant. This role also provides support to the Head of Finance with other tasks and projects as and when they arise and to deputise for and represent the Head of Finance in times of their absence. Key responsibilities: As part of this role, your key responsibilities will be… Reviewing of accounting processes and functions and providing recommendations for improvements to the Head of Finance. To support in the management and improvement of systems within the Finance department. Helping to enable efficient and effective processes and procedures Completion and submission of regulatory returns to the regulator of social housing and other regulatory/legal bodies. Leading and supporting with the external audit and managing the objectives in accordance with the timeline set. To take responsibility for balance sheet items. Reviewing reconciliations and schedules as required for the monthly and yearly accounts. To lead the team in carrying out key treasury tasks as well as managing the transactions and performance between OHL and OHA. Qualifications… Leadership qualification or willingness to gain a qualification in the Orwell Academy. Senior accountancy qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA or/and equivalent work experience. GCSE Grade C or equivalent in Maths and English Language is essential. A minimum of AAT qualified (or equivalent) is essential.
