Role: Responsible for leading and developing a multi-disciplined team of industrial and contractor staff in delivering the safe, effective and productive provision of outputs associated with Statutory inspections of Overhead lines, Substations and LV plant.
What you'll be doing:
1. Deliver business plan outputs for Overhead line, Substations and LV plant inspections in line with financial, regulatory and business plan objectives.
2. Lead and coach a team of industrial staff inspectors to ensure safe working practices are utilised in the course of maximising outputs and productivity levels in line with relevant business objectives.
3. Contractor management to enable project delivery without compromising on safety and quality.
4. Analyse business performance to ensure ongoing delivery of outputs are completed within unit and authorised prime costs, to required quality standards and within required timescales, identifying opportunities for future improvement.
5. Produce monthly inspection output reports.
6. Manage the behaviours and performance of team members, ensuring that all concerns are managed in accordance with relevant Company procedures.
7. Ensure teams are competent, authorised and equipped to meet the needs of the work programme.
8. Promote and drive exemplary health and safety culture and performance.
9. Assist in the management of daily and longer-term resource planning.
10. Prepare and manage budgets and monitor appropriate cost information from relevant financial systems.
11. Support robust stakeholder and customer interfaces.
12. Lead and manage the development and assessment of assigned trainees including apprentices, skills seekers, adult craft trainees, etc.
13. Integrate Operational Excellence in all undertakings.
14. Respond appropriately to Customer Complaints, taking ownership and resolving as appropriate.
What you’ll bring:
1. Expert knowledge of standards required of network operational activities, construction and maintenance.
2. Expert knowledge of corporate systems required to manage resource deployment and productivity.
3. Proven experience of managing, motivating, coaching and developing teams.
4. Team management experience, with a strong performance ethos.
5. Effective stakeholder and customer service engagement.
6. Ability to communicate and present information effectively.
7. Ability to manage competing priorities.
8. Awareness and understanding of key business drivers.
9. Where appropriate, technical and operational experience in a relevant engineering leading role within a utility environment.
10. Awareness of Energy Networks policies, procedures and working practices.
Minimum Requirements:
* SVQ/NVQ qualification or equivalent experience.
* Proven experience in a comparable team management role.
* Computer literacy – e.g. Microsoft Office suite.
* Where required, relevant operational experience.
