The Role: We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate English Teacher to join our vibrant team in February 2025. Whether you are an experienced educator or an Early Career Teacher (ECT), this role provides an exciting opportunity to teach English across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, with the potential to teach A-Level depending on experience. Key Responsibilities: Plan and deliver engaging English lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, ensuring the curriculum is tailored to meet the needs of all students. Develop dynamic lesson plans using a variety of resources and teaching methods to make English literature and language accessible and stimulating for every student. Assess and monitor student progress, providing regular feedback and support to ensure continuous academic improvement. Encourage critical thinking by engaging students with complex texts, themes, and ideas, while fostering a love for reading and writing. Integrate current events and real-world applications into lessons, helping students connect their learning with the world around them. Support students in developing writing, communication, and analytical skills, preparing them for both academic and life challenges. Collaborate with colleagues within the English department to share best practices, enhance cross-curricular learning, and support student outcomes. Contribute to the co-curricular program by organizing activities such as book clubs, drama productions, and writing competitions. Maintain accurate records of student progress, behaviour, and attendance, ensuring compliance with school policies and procedures. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, cooperation, and personal growth. What We’re Looking For: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Experience teaching English in secondary schools. Strong knowledge of the English curriculum and assessment practices. A degree in English, English Literature, or a related subject (desirable). A passion for teaching English and inspiring students to develop a love for literature and language. A commitment to academic excellence and the holistic development of students.
