As a Procurement Manager, Barnsley Council are looking for an experienced and talented individual, who is capable of driving the execution of Barnsley Council’s annual procurement plan, by leading end-to-end procurement processes across the people services ‘tower’. This role offers flexible and hybrid working, with the opportunity to work from home 2 days per week.
Key duties of the role include:
• Reporting to Strategic Procurement Business Partner, within a wider team in Procurement
• Responsible for end-to-end procurement activities within the people services tower, while working collaboratively with the services
• Positively build and grow stakeholder relationships
• Contribute to the shaping of the procurement strategy of the council
• Support the implementation of category strategy plans for key areas of strategic spend e.g. benchmarking and undertaking complex data analysis
This role would suite someone with experience and knowledge of working with public sector regulations and competent of leading procurement processes from pre-market to contract execution, with ability to run open tenders.
The role offers a salary of £46,118 - £48,710 per annum, plus additional benefits as detailed below.
