Overview
The Duchy Hospital in Harrogate, part of Circle Health Group—Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare—has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Registered Nurse to join our friendly and motivated team in the Pre Assessment department. This is a full-time role at 37.5 hours per week, requiring flexibility in shift patterns.
Responsibilities
1. Deliver high-quality nursing care and lead assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for complex patients.
2. Use advanced clinical knowledge to make timely and appropriate decisions, escalating where necessary.
3. Administer medication safely, monitor patient responses, and ensure adherence to NMC and local protocols.
4. Delegate tasks appropriately to ensure safe and effective workload management across shifts.
5. Uphold a culture of safety by ensuring compliance with infection prevention, safeguarding, medicines management, and risk reporting procedures.
6. Act as a key contact for patients and families, providing updates, reassurance, and information to support shared decision-making.
7. Collaborate effectively with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate care and facilitate smooth service transitions.
Candidate Criteria
* Registered Nurse (Adult) with active NMC registration.
* Significant post-registration experience in an acute or relevant clinical setting.
* Proven leadership, mentoring, and support skills within a nursing team.
* Strong clinical decision-making, problem-solving, and time management skills.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate, patient-focused approach.
* Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
* Previous experience in a senior or supervisory nursing role is desirable.
