Export Control Manager
Type: 3-6 month contract, 1/2 days onsite
About the Role:
Copello are working with a Marine client who is seeking an Export Control Manager to manage all trade, customs, and security compliance activities.
This role will engage with various stakeholders to drive a culture of compliance, protecting the business and enabling strategic objectives.
Main Responsibilities:
* Provide expert guidance on trade compliance, including global trade developments, regulatory changes, and risk management.
* Advise senior management on compliance developments, risks, and opportunities to add value.
* Proactively manage UK and US licensing and agreements to ensure business needs are met with minimal disruption.
* Develop and embed compliance procedures and processes.
* Analyse complex transactions to ensure compliance requirements are met and risks are monitored.
* Design and deliver training programs across functions.
* Liaise with external parties to ensure compliance requirements are flowed down and supply chain risks are mitigated.
* Act as Security Controller, responsible for classified information, physical site security, cyber/information security, and personnel security clearance.
* Represent the business through internal and external compliance verification activities.
Requirements:
* Minimum 5 years' experience in international trade compliance, preferably in defence manufacturing or marine sector.
* Advanced knowledge of UK and US trade regulations (EAR, ITAR, OFAC) and classification lists (UKML, USML, CCL).
* Proficiency in export licensing and agreements (TAAs, MLAs), MOD approvals (F1686, F680, PV Grading).
* Experience with US cyber security regulations (NIST/CMMC) is favourable.
* Working knowledge of customs processes (import/export, tariffs, rules of origin).

Salary:
£60,000 - £80,000 per annum depending on experience.
