Master Data - Competitor Administrator
Master data plays a critical role in Atlas Copco Compressors’ Day to day operations and ensures all our users can proceed with their work. Master Data – Competitor Administrator is a brand-new role that is responsible for ensuring and enhancing the functionality of our local material and competitor equipment master data to guarantee that all our regular business operations can proceed smoothly.
This role is an exciting opportunity for anyone looking to begin their career in data management or enhance / receive a solid understanding on the importance of data in a business environment. This role will receive job specific and career appropriate training and support from the very beginning. The desired candidate will have an interest in developing their skills in data management as well as enjoying understanding technical processes, problem solving and delivering critical solutions to support the business.
The role:
Local Material Data Management. Managing the data quality of the materials (i.e. products/parts) ensuring the data is maintained to the highest level. This will include the creation and maintenance of Non-Atlas Copco Group materials (local materials) to support the sales team in the sales process.
Competitor Equipment Data Management. Managing the data quality of the non-Atlas Copco Group equipment (competitor equipment). This includes the creation and maintenance of competitor equipment to improve our understanding of competitor equipment in the market.
Understand Competitor Equipment Types. An important element of this role will be to understand who our competitors are and the naming of their equipment. This will help us to be able to identify and categorise our competitor equipment correctly particularly through periods of integration of acquired companies.
Local Material & Competitor Equipment Reporting. Produce and provide analysis and reporting regarding local materials and equipment reporting. Understanding where improvements can be made and coming up with solutions to make these improvements. Focus on improving the Master Data quality for local materials on the Boest! data reporting dashboard.
Supporting the Master Data Materials Analyst. Support the Master Data – Materials Analyst in ensuring a high quality of data, updating price information and provide cover during periods of leave.
Supporting the Master Data Equipment Analyst. Support the Master Data – Equipment Analyst in ensuring a high quality of data, updating equipment locations and provide cover during periods of leave.
Use Sales Data to Support Competitor Understanding. Alongside the competitor equipment data work with other team members to understand our biggest competitors and their installed base to help support sales teams and business decision making.
Issue Resolving Escalations. Working with the Master Data Stewards to resolve any issues on local materials and competitor equipment by escalating via Solman, My Quest and SNOW tickets or colleagues directly such as divisional data specialists.
Supporting Acquisitions. Supporting colleagues not just in Atlas Copco but also any of the current or future acquired companies with any equipment data projects.
Cross Team Collaboration. Clear and precise communication and good collaborative skills to work effectively with colleagues in the immediate Master Data team, the wider Marketing team, other UK colleagues and the international support teams. This will include learning basic tasks of the other master data roles to provide cover when required.
To succeed, you will need:
Has meticulous attention to detail.
Have a high level of analytical skills and enjoys working with large quantities of data, which will be key to succeeding in this role
Have at least an intermediate level skillset of working with a number of computing applications, essentially Microsoft Excel
Any other system history or previous experience of SAP is desirable but not essential; if not someone who is able to pick up new systems easily and has a willingness to learn
Have good communication skills through various methods including verbally and written
Can understand and work with many different processes and is able to identify possible improvements to these processes in the future
Be able to work well and effectively in a team
Be a proactive thinker with a determination to succeed
