Title: Client Accountant ManagerLocation: Isle of Man - 3 days a week from homeSalary: £60-65,000paContract: Permanent We are seeking an experienced Client Accounting Manager to lead and manage a team of Accountants and Bookkeepers. The successful candidate will oversee the accounting function, ensuring the efficient workflow and timely delivery of precise financial statements. This role demands a strong leader who can drive profitability while maintaining the highest standards of technical accuracy. Key Responsibilities:
* Manage client expectations and ensure all accounting deadlines are met.
* Oversee and prioritize the workflow within the accounting team, working closely with Trust Administration Teams to resolve queries and finalize financial statements promptly.
* Take ownership of the accounting workload, professionally liaising with clients, auditors, and other third parties.
* Enhance profitability by reviewing fee structures, ensuring timely invoicing, and supporting Trust Administration Teams in preparing client fee proposals.
* Support the Head of Accounting in driving change initiatives to improve operational efficiency, optimize team performance, and increase profitability. Participate in special projects as required.
* Meet personal targets, including time recording and utilization goals, while managing business risks through technical expertise.
* Ensure the accurate and timely delivery of financial statements that meet statutory requirements and UK GAAP standards.
* Prepare and review complex financial statements, providing ongoing technical support to colleagues.
* Produce reliable management information and meet agreed key performance indicators (KPIs).
* Build, lead, and mentor a team of accountants and bookkeepers at various levels.
* Provide guidance, coaching, and professional development opportunities, ensuring adherence to Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements.
Skills & Experience:
* A relevant professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA or CA) is required. A fiduciary qualification (e.g., STEP) would be advantageous.
* Extensive accounting experience within a fiduciary services environment, including at least 5 years in a leadership role.
* Strong working knowledge of statutory requirements and technical accounting standards (UK GAAP/FRS102).
* Proven ability to communicate effectively at the Board level and deliver impactful presentations.
* Skilled in using judgment and initiative to solve day-to-day problems.
* Flexible and professional, especially when working under tight deadlines.
* Strong prioritisation and time management skills, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
* A team player who is self-motivated, goal-oriented, and committed to exceeding targets.
* High levels of personal and interpersonal skills, capable of building strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
