Job summary
The successful candidate will work as a member of a busy team involved with the receipting, picking, and packing of stock items, barcoding, and delivery of stock to wards and departments throughout the hospital. Responsibilities include unloading lorries, conducting yearly stock takes, and general stores duties.
The role covers a large area around the hospital and involves considerable walking.
Main duties of the job
1. Exchange information internally and externally with staff and suppliers regarding deliveries, including delivery times and damaged goods. 'Book in' goods via the Oracle FMS system.
2. Ensure correct rotation and storage of goods (where applicable). Assist in stocktaking when requested.
3. Carry out daily cleaning and general care of all store equipment.
4. Liaise with hospital personnel at R/D/delivery points to ensure all documentation is signed and completed appropriately. Provide and receive routine information orally and in writing to inform customers and colleagues.
5. Proficiency in Welsh is desirable; Welsh and/or English speakers are encouraged to apply.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Essential: NVQ Level 2 in Warehouse and Distribution (or willing to work towards), or 3 GCSEs including Maths and English, or equivalent experience.
* Desirable: NVQ Level 3 in Warehouse and Distribution; Basic knowledge of medical items.
Knowledge
* Essential: Knowledge of Health and Safety; Warehousing/Stores Operations.
* Desirable: Knowledge of COSHH; Use of Handheld Devices for Stock Control.
