A very exciting opportunity has arisen for Nurse Team Leaders in the New Digestive Diseases Diagnostic Centre at EDGH.
Endoscopy at ESHT is fully accredited with JAG. The new centre will provide 4 Endoscopy Procedure Rooms and will be introducing transformative diagnostic testing.
We are looking for enthusiastic Endoscopy Nurses who are interested in gaining further leadership and management skills in this innovative and busy specialty.
The successful post holders will already possess excellent communication skills and enjoy working in a busy and dedicated team. You need to be RN with a minimum of 1 year endoscopy clinical experience and hold a teaching and assessing qualification or mentorship.
Main duties of the job
The Nurse Team Leader will support and deputise the Nurse Team Manager to ensure the provision of excellent nursing care and the effective management of staff and other resources. Also to carry out the day-to-day management and coordination of the Endoscopy unit and ensure that there are education and training opportunities for all staff.
This position will require someone that is confident in their knowledge and delivery of excellence in every aspect of patient care.
This role is highly technical as you will be working with state-of-the-art endoscopic equipment which helps to diagnose and assess patients’ conditions within the Gastrointestinal tract.
The Nurse Team Leader will actively be involved in clinical auditing to obtain and maintain JAG accreditation and be effective in leading all Endoscopic procedures and administration processes.

Qualifications
* Registered Nurse and hold active registration with Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
* Degree level qualification relevant to role
* Professional qualification and training to lead the clinical team with relevant knowledge and skills for specialist area
* Evidence of mandatory and statutory essential training skills, for example, Basic Life Support, manual handling, infection control, fire etc.
* Management or leadership qualification or training
* Education and training qualification
* Quality improvement training and qualification
Experience
* Experience in nursing care, knowledge and expertise relevant to the clinical area within NHS or relevant health care organisation
* Experience in the take charge role and be able to lead a shift in the clinical area, demonstrating the ability to manage the clinical area, lead people and deal with emergencies and queries effectively
* Experience in leading a team or service change/QI project
