Using your knowledge ofhydrostatics, hydrodynamics, seamanship & outfit,infrastructure or whole boat design to support the largestshipbuilding programmes in the UK Supporting with sea trials,inclining experiments and other commissioning activities formultiple submarine classes Undertaking research anddevelopment activities to develop world leading capabilities Writing and presenting technicalreports
Your skills andexperiences:
Essential:
* Demonstrableexperience as a Naval Architect
Chartered Engineer or workingtowards Chartered status
Desirable:
* Degree in NavalArchitecture
Experience in ship design analysisand build support Advanced numeracy and analyticalskills Previous experience working ondefence projects

The Naval Architecture team: As a Senior NavalArchitect, you will be an important member in one of the largestand fastest growing Naval Architecture Departments in the UK. Youwill be working on some of the most complex ship design and buildprogrammes ever undertaken to deliver cutting edge submarines tothe Royal Navy and Royal Australian Navy. This role willprovide you with the chance to work on submarines at all stages ofthe product life cycle from early design to build support andcommission. The Naval Architecture Department comprises teamsspecialising weights engineering, stability and hydrostatics,infrastructure support, seamanship and outfit, manoeuvring andcontrol, fluid dynamics, design and development. Depending on yourlocation, the role will involve working one day a week on site,with expectation to travel to Barrow for work commitments.
