Camberwell Grammar School is an independent Anglican day school for boys from Pre-Preparatory to Year 12. ABOUT THE ROLE
Sport is an integral part of Camberwell Grammar life. With state of the art facilities and 28 sports on offer, there are opportunities for everyone. It provides more than just competition. Our focus is on creating a supportive, friendly environment where students experience the joy of achievement—whether it’s serving and volleying in tennis, scoring a first goal in soccer, or cheering on a friend in a swim meet.
The Sports Administrator is key to the success of our program, ensuring the organisation, administration and delivery of sporting events and programs is seamless and a positive experience for our teachers, coaches and students.
This is a full time permanent position commencing in January 2025.
The key responsibilities of the role include:
1. Assisting the Head of Sport with coach administration and allocation and sport fixtures.
2. Training and match day equipment administration including providing equipment to coaches, preparing match day kits and coordinating the collection and delivery of first aid packs for coaches.
3. Administration of student absences including following up with students, teachers and coaches.
4. Managing and updating the sport pages on our intranet.
5. Booking first aid officers for weekly fixtures as required.
6. Managing the rostering, payment and administration of umpires.
7. Assisting with transport bookings as required.
8. The ordering and stock take of sports equipment.
9. Administering weekly sport results, ladders and team entries for competitions.
There may be a requirement during the Summer and Winter seasons to work on Saturday mornings when our school is participating in a game to assist in the management of unforeseen circumstances such as adverse weather, fixturing, transport, equipment or staffing issues.
ABOUT YOU
Knowledge & skills:
1. Previous experience in an office administration role, demonstrated experience in sports administration would be preferred.
2. Strong administration and data entry skills, including advanced skills in Office computing applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and InDesign and the Google Suite including documents, sheets, forms and slides.
3. Experience using Clipboard would be an advantage.
4. Sound analytical, problem-solving skills and organisational skills.
5. High levels of attention to detail with experience in maintaining documentation and record keeping.
6. An ability to work with students in a professional, supportive, safe and caring manner.
7. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with experience dealing with different stakeholder groups.
Qualifications:
1. Working towards or a completed Sport Administration Degree or similar would be advantageous.
2. Working with Children Check.
3. National Crime Check.
4. Current drivers licence.
