Overview of the role of Headteacher:
* Under the overall direction, the Headteacher plays a lead role in formulating the aims, objectives of the schools and establishing the policies through which they are to be achieved.
* Lead by example, holding and articulating clear values and moral purpose, and focusing on providing excellent education for all pupils.
* Provide direction and line management of the senior leadership team.
* Be responsible for the standards and curriculum of all pupils including monitoring of progress towards achievement.
* To have a central responsibility for raising the quality of teaching and learning and for pupils’ achievement. Setting high expectations and monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of learning outcomes.
* Manage safeguarding across the school and act according to Keeping Children Safe in Education.
* Provide curriculum leadership across the school.
* Lead regular reviews of all school systems to ensure statutory requirements are being met and improved on where appropriate.
* Lead on Ofsted inspections including the independent schools’ standards.
* Manage staff development programmes and school resources.
* Lead on formulating and reviewing the School Development Plan.
Our ideal candidate will have:
* A committed and passionate view of students with SEND.
* At least two years’ experience minimum of working in a SEND environment or similar unit/provision.
* QTS/QTLS is a requirement of this post.
