Job Title: Grants and Trusts Fundraiser
Responsible to: Grants and Trusts Manager
Responsible For: Working with the wider Little Miracles team to find, plan and apply for grant and contract funding to help the charity meet its income goals
Location: Primarily based at Little Miracles Head Office (The Spinney, Hartwell Way, Peterborough) however homeworking will also be required alongside irregular travel to other locations to meet business needs.
Job Overview:
Little Miracles supports families with children (0-25 years old) who have additional needs, disabilities and life-limiting conditions. We are an award-winning charity that believes all children have the right to the childhood they deserve.
The primary purpose of this role is to generate income that will ensure our sustainability and growth, in turn allowing Little Miracles to offer charitable services to an increasing number of families. We hope to reach 50,000 children in the next three years.
Your role will be to work alongside front-line staff and the senior leadership team to fund projects that benefit the families we support. You will prospect and research grant funders then apply with requested projects that have the most chance of success. In some cases, you will complete consultation and research with our members to help apply and evaluate projects for our funders.
Little Miracles is a unique environment where it is impossible to forget the importance of what we do. We are surrounded by advocates for the charity, so many of the families are happy to get involved by telling their stories or speaking to supporters. This is really unusual in fundraising, at Little Miracles you never feel distanced from the cause and donors are always delighted to meet the people that they are helping.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Research grant-making organisations
2. Use critical thinking and creative writing skills to create realistic, achievable and persuasive project applications, using charity terminology and concepts
3. Report on funding and donation income and impact to trustees, members of the public and charity supporters
4. Engage with service users, Little Miracles’ branch committee members and Little Miracles’ Senior Management Team to ascertain what types of funding are required by the Charity and its users
5. Be engaged with evolving fundraising environments; for instance, using email newsletters to be made aware of grant programmes that Little Miracles could benefit from, attending information forums or using online tools to find prospective funders
6. Accurately update and maintain our fundraising database
7. Be well organised; being able to keep on top of which activities, services and core-costs are funded and which require funding at each of our 19 branches
8. Handle and process data in a manner that is compliant with GDPR policies and regulations
9. Be willing to help the wider Little Miracles team in any reasonable way, where and when required
Job Type: Permanent contract, 35 hours per week over five days, Monday to Friday
Salary: £24,570 per annum
Holidays: 28 days (including bank holidays)

Essential Knowledge and Experience:
* Excellent verbal, written and numerical communication skills

* Maths GCSE Grade 4 (GCSE grade C) or equivalent
* English GCSE Grade 5 (GCSE grade C) or equivalent
Desirable Knowledge and Experience:
* Fundraising experience
* Full UK Driving License (preferred)
* Knowledge or experience of children with additional needs, disabilities or life-limiting conditions
