The Opportunity
Join Holcim as a Mobile Plant Fitter at our flagship Torr Works super quarry near Shepton Mallet, where youll play a vital role in maintaining our large fleet of mobile plant equipment. As part of a supportive team of six experienced fitters, youll carry out essential reactive maintenance across a range of heavy vehicles, including excavators and dump trucks. If you're hands-on, safety-focused, and eager to work on high-value equipment in a dynamic environment, this is an ideal opportunity for you.
Key Responsibilities :
Carry out reactive maintenance across a diverse fleet of over 30 mobile plant vehicles.
Perform preventative maintenance tasks to ensure machinery is operating at peak efficiency.
Support project-based work to optimise equipment reliability and uptime.
Work within a rotating Monday to Friday shift pattern (05:0014:30 and 08:0017:30).
Ensure all maintenance tasks are completed in accordance with health and safety protocols.
Maintain a clean, tidy, and hazard-free working environment.
Communicate effectively with team members and site management to resolve issues promptly.
Who You Are
Youre a skilled and proactive Mobile Plant Fitter, ready to apply your technical knowledge in a large-scale, high-performance quarry setting. Youre motivated to ensure equipment runs efficiently and safely, and enjoy solving mechanical challenges on a daily basis.
Background as a Fitter or Mechanic in one or more of the following: Mobile Plant, HGVs, Forklifts, Military, or Agricultural equipment.
Competent working with hydraulic systems and mobile plant maintenance.
Familiar with safe working practices and committed to maintaining a zero-harm environment.
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable working without supervision or as part of a team in a large operational setting.
