About Us:
We are a vibrant and inclusive school located in Burnley, dedicated to providing exceptional education and support to our students. We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join our team.
Responsibilities:
* Provide support and assistance to students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), particularly those with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
* Work closely with classroom teachers to implement individual education plans and adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.
* Assist students in accessing the national curriculum and completing assigned tasks.
* Provide emotional support and guidance to students, promoting positive behavior and social skills development.
* Collaborate with colleagues and external professionals to ensure the holistic development and well-being of students.
Requirements:
* A relevant qualification related to working with children in schools, such as Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning.
* Proven experience working with SEND/SEMH children in a school environment, preferably with knowledge of the national curriculum.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, colleagues, and parents.
* Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the educational and emotional needs of children.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required.
* Flexibility and adaptability to respond to the changing needs of students and the school environment.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
