Are you an experienced payroll clerk who would like to work in an established in-house payroll team? Due to a secondment, this role has arisen to support the team with payroll duties. This role is offered initially on a 6-month contract and would only require you in the office between 1 - 2 days per week. There is a great team ethic and superb company culture.
Responsibilities:
1. Perform daily payroll tasks, including backfilling roles to support team members during Testing and Parallel run phases.
2. Monitor and manage the shared mailbox for payroll enquiries.
3. Conduct complex calculations for Maternity Leave, Long-Term Sickness (LTS), Statutory Sick Pay (SSP), and employee departures.
4. Process new hires, terminations, and statutory absences.
5. Oversee all ad hoc data, pension and benefit changes across a dozen payrolls, including one weekly payroll and two pensioner payrolls.
6. Raise ad hoc advances and process third-party payments.
7. Ensure accuracy in team processing.
8. Conduct system audits between HR and payroll systems.
9. Complete month-end payroll controls before payroll release.
10. Generate payroll reports at month-end.
Requirements:
1. Proven experience within a payroll department.
2. Advanced experience using Microsoft Office and Excel.
3. Good communication and organisational skills.
4. Ideally from a payroll Bureau background.
