Electrical Fitter
Job Location: Dorchester, Dorset
Job Type: Permanent
Salary: £14.00 - £17.25 per hour / £28,392 - £35,000 per annum
Hours: 39 hours per week, Monday - Thursday 8.30am - 5pm & Friday 8.30am - 4pm
The company offers flexibility on their working hours, and you may be able to start up to an hour early and finish earlier.

Due to company growth and a retirement, we are currently looking to recruit for a number of Electrical Fitters on a Permanent basis to work for a leading design & manufacturer of bespoke high value, state of the art machinery for a variety of industries including automotive, aerospace, and defence.
Working as part of a team of 7 on the shop floor, you will be involved in the start to finish build of prototypes and final build projects.
The team works closely together to ensure projects are completed and delivered on time.
The process starts with a prototype that needs to be built; once done and tested, the customer has approval, and once passed, the machine will need to be stripped down and rebuilt on customer premises.
Your role will involve undertaking everything electrical from start to finish. Working from drawings and alongside the Mechanical Fitters, Designers, and Project team, you will be tasked with all wiring and electrical build of the machines and associated parts.

Within the role you will be:
1. Undertaking the electrical build from start to finish including building and wiring control panels, looms, and all associated moving parts.
2. Identifying root causes of electrical faults and rectifying them.
3. Testing electrical systems.
4. Working closely with other departments including design, software, and projects.
5. Providing feedback and suggestions on build recommendations to internal departments.
6. Ensuring builds meet required specifications and are in line with required safety standards.
7. Helping with the installation of the company products on customer premises.
The successful applicant will:
1. Ideally hold formal electrical qualifications, but we can consider applicants who are qualified by experience.
2. Have the ability to read, understand, and work from electrical drawings.
3. Have the ability to fault find and rectify.
4. Be a proactive problem solver.
5. Be able to work well within a team or under their own supervision.
This role would suit an individual who has:
1. Previous Electrical experience.
2. Experience as a Maintenance Electrician.
3. Experience as an Electrical Service Engineer.
4. Experience as a Commissioning Engineer.
5. Experience as an Installations Engineer.
