Sizewell C will be a state-of-the-art, 3.2-gigawatt power station, set to supply low-carbon electricity to around 6 million homes, and play a vital role in our energy future for at least 60 years. About the Role As a Carbon Manager, you will take charge of managing and delivering the carbon reduction commitments for Sizewell C. Reporting directly to the Alliance ESG Strategic Operations Lead, you will be integral to the development of carbon reduction route maps, business cases, and continual improvement initiatives. Your role will involve collaborating with various internal and external stakeholders to promote and implement low carbon strategies and innovations. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with the Alliance ESG Strategic Operations Lead to deliver carbon commitments and develop strategic plans. Manage the creation of carbon routemap plans and strategies to meet targets. Support the development of carbon management resources and document templates. Design, implement, and track carbon training programs. Embed and support carbon management across project functions, such as procurement, commercial, and logistics. Oversee project client carbon reporting and deliverables, including baselines, forecasts, and progress reports. Provide guidance on carbon assessment and impact mitigation to project teams. Promote low carbon innovations within the supply chain. Manage and support the development and implementation of low carbon enhancements and incentive business cases. Assist technical delivery groups with low carbon solutions for fuel, asphalt, concrete, and steel. What We're Looking For Essential: A science-based background with a relevant BSc or equivalent qualification in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Carbon, Energy, or a similar field. A solid understanding of carbon impact and mitigation issues on major infrastructure schemes. Working knowledge of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) reporting. Familiarity with carbon reporting standards and regulatory regimes (e.g., PAS 2080 (2023)). Proficiency in Office applications and analytical tools. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Determination and excellent planning and organizational skills. Desirable: MSc in Sustainability, Carbon, Energy, or a related field. Membership in a relevant professional body.
