Do you have High Voltage experience? if so, this could be the role for you, so apply today to avoid missing out The opportunity Our design engineering consultancy client is continuing to expand and is currently seeking an experienced electrical design engineer to work in the nuclear defence sector will you will help to support the technical capability of the Design Authority. This role is suited to engineers with experience in Electrical Design, although candidates with a background in Electrical Installation or Maintenance are also encouraged to apply. The role £55-65 Umbrella per hour (inside IR35) This is a Fully remote based role Site visit once a month to Clyde, Faslane site will be required. Expenses will be covered. 40 Hours per week Successful candidates must hold SC clearance or have the ability to gain it. Your duties and responsibilities will be Ensuring technical excellence in the specification, production, and assessment of design packages for infrastructure. Specifying reliability and operational constraints for infrastructure. Assessing work control procedures for the maintenance of infrastructure. Assessing infrastructure design, material state, qualification, and ageing mechanisms to ensure the continued operation of facilities and utilities. Promoting a robust safety and security culture. Ensuring that safety-related contract outputs meet contract requirements and adhere to appropriate safety standards by acting as an intelligent customer.You will have the following qualifications and experience Broad experience in electrical engineering, with knowledge of systems such as HV/MV distribution, LV distribution, protection systems, C&I systems, electrical machines (including synchronous motors), frequency changers, and diesel alternators. Experience in the nuclear industry or another high-hazard industry is preferred but not essential. Ability to provide practical, creative, and cost-effective solutions for design changes or modifications to plant and supporting infrastructure. Good understanding of British and international design standards. Proven track record of making evidence-based decisions using various data sources. Strong verbal and written communication skills. The ability to effectively manage and prioritise your own workload. HNC or equivalent qualifications and experience in a relevant engineering discipline. Detailed knowledge of the Design Intent for Electrical Infrastructure in the nuclear industry or a similar industry.It's great if you also have the following Incorporated Engineer status or equivalent experience and standing.
