We are seeking an inspirational Head of Music to lead our music department, shaping an engaging and high-quality curriculum that nurtures creativity, confidence, and a love for music among our students.
As Head of Music, you will play a key role in driving excellence in teaching and learning, supporting staff development, and ensuring that music remains an integral and thriving part of school life.
You will have the opportunity to develop and implement innovative teaching strategies, lead extracurricular activities such as school choirs, orchestras, and performances, and build strong relationships with students, staff, and the wider community.

What will you do?
• Deliver the curriculum, prepare teaching materials, and ensure high standards of literacy and student progress.
• Establish a safe and stimulating environment, manage classroom behavior, and promote student well-being.
• Use assessment data to monitor student progress, set targets, and plan lessons.
• Collaborate with colleagues, participate in professional development, and communicate effectively with parents and external bodies.
• Promote and safeguard the welfare of students, ensuring compliance with school policies and protocols.
What are we looking for?
• Qualified to bachelor’s degree level in relevant or allied subject
• QTS Qualified
• Able to work independently, collaboratively and as part of a team
• Excellent communication skills with children, parents and carers
• Ability to create and maintain professional working relationships
• Commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of all students
