Unique opportunity here for an accomplished Senior level Architectural Technician / Technologist to join a growing Architectural practice in Wakefield who specialise in the layout, design and technical delivery of new build housing typologies for PLC house builders and regional developers across Yorkshire and nationally.
The experienced Senior Architectural Technician / Technologist will be joining an ambitious, recently established practice which is now entering its fifth year of trading. Owing to sustained growth and a robust pipeline of work, they have earmarked a strategic technical appointment which will supplement the business as it continues to expand and sit just underneath the two Directors in their management structure.
What they require is an experienced Senior Level Architectural Technician / Technologist with a proven track record of working in the Residential development sector to include new build volume housing. Ideally, you will be from an Architectural Practice background who has successfully run small project teams and led the delivery of various Residential developments from early planning, design and layout stages, through to technical delivery. Experience wise we are looking for someone with a minimum of 7-10 years as an Architectural Technician / Technologist who has either taken the experienced route via HNC or has successfully obtained a BSc Architectural Technologists degree.
This opportunity has no glass ceiling for progression; there is the scope to be very hands-on in the running of project teams and learning the wider intricacies of running a business. Potential future share options could be on offer for the right candidate.
Additional Duties:
1. A thorough understanding of the various design facets of Residential typologies, particularly of a new build nature.
2. The ability to produce full planning and working drawing packages using AutoCAD, including design & planning conceptual stages, detailed construction drawing packages, layout designs, location plans, external works, and sections.
3. Excellent freehand sketch capabilities, particularly for presenting early-stage draft layout designs.
4. Experience in a supervisory role and the ability to delegate work to junior members of the team.
5. Proven job running experience and a history of managing your own projects.
6. Ability to deliver packages of work to tight deadlines whilst maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
7. Meeting clients and developing long-term relationships with external partners and businesses.
8. Excellent client-facing skills and an ability to problem solve.
9. Be a team player and keen for future progression.
Salary depending on experience/suitability - £40,000 - £50,000 + benefits which includes a Christmas bonus. Additionally, our client offers flexible working hours; the office location is Wakefield.
