The Firm
A well-established and respected high street law firm is seeking a Senior Associate Solicitor or Partner to lead its Employment Law department. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the firm’s succession planning, managing and growing the practice for the future.
The Role
As a Senior Associate or Partner, you will take on a leadership role within the firm, handling a wide range of employment law matters while contributing to the strategic direction of the practice. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Advising employers and employees on all aspects of employment law, including contracts, settlement agreements, redundancies, TUPE and workplace disputes
2. Managing a varied caseload of contentious and non-contentious matters, including tribunal claims
3. Developing client relationships and driving business development to grow the department
4. Mentoring and supervising junior solicitors and support staff
5. Contributing to the firm's long-term succession planning and strategic growth
About You
1. 8+ years’ PQE with a strong background in employment law, ideally gained in private practice
2. Experience handling complex employment disputes and providing strategic advice to businesses and individuals
3. A commercial mindset, with an ability to develop and retain clients
4. Strong leadership skills, with experience mentoring junior staff
5. A commitment to playing an integral role in the firm’s future development and growth
6. A following or strong local client connections would be an advantage but is not essential
