A growing multi-national Pentecostal Church in Crewe, England is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our church community as Minister of Religion/Assistant Pastor (welfare department). The candidate must have experience in providing support, care and assistance to members of our congregation who are facing challenges as well as teaching and mentoring the word of God (Bible). You must be a born-again Christian, believe in Jesus Christ as the only begotten son of God, the Holy Spirit and the Holy bible as the word of God. The successful candidate must understand the Afro-Caribbean culture (should be able to speak at least one local language), and be able to minister to the need peculiar to that ethnic group. We are looking for someone who has a heart for service, excellent person skills and a commitment to upholding the values of compassion within our church family. The candidate will oversee our welfare department, lead regular visits and follow-ups to struggling members, work with other heads of departments and Pastors to ensure that Church services are conducted in accordance with our Christian Statement of Belief and lead the congregation in praise, worship and prayers.
Details of duties:
• Lead and oversee the Welfare department
• Provide emotional and spiritual support to individuals and families facing difficult circumstances such as illness, bereavement, or other life challenges.
• Visit members of the congregation in hospitals, nursing homes, or their homes to offer comfort and companionship.
• Conduct needs assessments to identify individuals or families within the church community who may require assistance.
• Work closely with church leaders and other relevant committees to determine the most effective ways to meet identified needs.
• Maintain an up-to-date database of available resources and services.
• Provide immediate assistance and support in crisis situations, such as natural disasters, accidents, or sudden financial hardships.
• Advocate on behalf of individuals or families dealing with external agencies, ensuring fair treatment and access to necessary services.
• Keep the congregation informed about available support services, resources, and ongoing welfare initiatives.
• Lead the congregation in praise, worship and prayers
• Perform pastoral care duties and conducts some services in accordance with our Christian Statement of Belief

Skills, experience and qualification required of this position:
Skills
• Must be a born-again Christian, believe in Jesus Christ as the only begotten son of God, the Holy Spirit and the Holy bible as the word of God
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to lead or participate in church services
• An active, Pentecostal Christian
• Empathy and a non-judgmental approach to diverse challenges.
• Organizational and problem-solving abilities.
Experience
• Demonstrated experience in pastoral care, counselling, or social work.
• Experience of leading teams
• Ability to work proactively with no supervision
• Experience of bible teaching and leading congregational worship in an ethnically diverse congregation is desirable.
Qualification
- A Bachelor’s degree or qualification equivalent of level 6
- Minimum of two years’ experience in a similar welfare officer position
