We are recruiting for a dynamic Business Development Manager for our client based in Gatwick. The position will require extensive travel to client premises, industry events and service delivery locations. The Business Development Manager will work with the Commercial Director, SLT and other Divisional stakeholders to define, structure and execute the strategic business plan, to help drive our ambition to become a leading UK Healthcare brand, delivering gold standard primary clinical services to patients in secure custody settings. Under direction of the Commercial Director, you will take responsibility for leading work against the pipeline of bid opportunities, providing needs analysis, compelling business proposals, tender preparation, bid process, sales presentations and negotiation & finalising contractual arrangements for new wins. Develop networks, attend industry events, and gather market intelligence to build a clear landscape of new markets in which we wish to operate. Identify and build relationships with Commissioners and other key decision makers. Collate all contracts data, incumbent service delivery players, and bid entry requirements/ USPs. Identify other external or Group stakeholders who can assist in delivering against the plan. Keep up to date with the changing UK Healthcare landscape, Legislative changes and NHS initiatives/ challenges to ensure the business is well placed to react and manage change or exploit new opportunities. Act as the new contract subject matter expert providing expert guidance and support to the business as it onboards new business wins. Support the Commercial Director and Finance colleagues in modelling competitive bid pricing and creating new budgets. Identify suitable Government, NHS and other contract frameworks to which the business should register, and work to establish these. Document requirements and progress. Undertake other duties commensurate with the grading of this post. A graduate level or similar business qualification is desirable. Your experience and knowledge to be suitable for this role will include: A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar senior role, preferably in a blue-chip organisation, with a demonstrable track record of organic and new business wins. A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the UK Healthcare market, ideally with a background in primary healthcare/ secure custody settings. Understanding of integration in a multi-disciplinary healthcare setting and ability to deploy this whilst keeping the scope of practice of each healthcare professional in mind. Understanding of all clinical delivery platforms and their unique properties. Good knowledge of the typical patient journey, best practice clinical service delivery in front-line environments and general principles of clinical governance policies and procedures. Experience in facing-off to senior client stakeholders demonstrating savvy commercial know-how, strategic thinking and sales acumen. Extensive experience of the end-to-end sales process; market research, gathering data, analysing value propositions, constructing the TOM and pricing models, writing bids, commercial contract negotiations and overseeing implementation and on-boarding. The ability to network and build relationships with NHS Trusts/ Commissioners, Government Procurement, Police Commissioners, large medical composites and other key stakeholders in the target markets. Skilled in clearly establishing client aspirations and identifying innovative (monetised) solutions that add value over and above the core service deliverables. Ability to make decisions under pressure, utilising pragmatic, logical and sometimes lateral thinking. Good strategic vision with the ability to execute tactical plans at a detailed level. Able to oversee projects and ensure their execution to agreed timeframes. Highly skilled at leading, motivating and inspiring colleagues, and working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
