An exciting opportunity has arisen to undertake the role of Administration Assistant for the Professional Standards Complaints Department based at the Kent Police HQ, Sutton Road, Maidstone. This is a complex role that requires you to undertake various day-to-day activities. These can be tasks such as creating and closing complaints, answering emails, responding to voicemails, reading and scanning post. You will also be sending outcome documents to complainants and providing supporting documents to either the Independent Office of Police Complaints (IOPC) or Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC) to assist them with complaint reviews. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate previous administrative experience working in a fast-paced environment. You will be able to demonstrate experience of using IT programs such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams and be confident in your ability. You will be a team player and have experience of working as part of a small and large team. You will be highly organized and able to prioritize your own workload. You will be required to gain knowledge of the complaints and misconduct regulations, understanding the roles of the Independent Office of Police Conduct (IOPC) and the Office of The Police Crime Commissioner (OPCC) and our responsibilities under the Statutory Guidance of Complaints. You will gain an understanding of the Management of Police Information and data protection. You will gain an understanding of the Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Behaviour. The role will offer flexibility in terms of place of work, including the potential to work from home for those who would like to. In the event that home working is agreed for the successful candidate, there will be a requirement to regularly attend a designated ‘Team Zone’ on average one or two days a week, as agreed with the line manager. Currently, the designated Team Zone for this role is located at Headquarters, Sutton Road. Please note that any excess travel costs from the existing Team Zone to any future Team Zone will not be paid and applicants are advised to take potential travel mileage increases into consideration when deciding to apply. Kent Police offers incremental increases within this salary band; therefore, the salary for this position will rise to a maximum of £28,239.00.
