At Cavendish Nuclear, we’re working to create a safe and secure world together, and if you join us, you can play your part as a Bid Manager.
The role
As a Bid Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. The primary focus will be to ensure submission of winning bids – increasingly frequently in competitive situations. Managing stakeholder inputs and interests from across the business is a key requirement.
Day-to-day, you’ll:
* Submit bids that have met all schedule milestones and are completed to budget agreed at outset.
* Prepare for and lead an opportunity through the CN governance process and gate and coloured reviews, requiring a working appreciation of the Business Winning process.
* Identify, secure and mobilise capability and functional support from across the business and external supply-chain, engaging with the proposal Manager to ensure generation of high-scoring proposal responses.
* Provide the business with regular progress updates and liaise within the business to manage/mitigate issues which threaten successful bid progress.
* Engage with a varied range of SMEs, capability, functional and business personnel during bid preparation and for coloured reviews (e.g. green team review).
* Ensure post-tender/pre-contract submission that clarifications and customer-facing requirements are suitably met and that business delivery has a suitable handover and transfer of ownership.
This is a full-time role, 37 hours per week, providing hybrid working arrangements with 2 days in the office/onsite and 3 days working from home.
Essential experience of the Bid Manager:
* Proven track record in bid management of complex bids over £10m or at least 5 years of bid management experience.
* Strong organisational traits and ability to respect the importance of and meet deadlines.
* Knowledge of the end-to-end Business Winning process and management system.
* Strong communicator with excellent attention to detail.
* Ability to work under pressure in meeting deadlines – not just bid submission dates but also interim milestones (e.g. reviews).
* Practical understanding of key components underpinning an offer (schedule, supply-chain, risk, contract terms, cost and finance models).
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. Further details are available at United Kingdom Security Vetting: clearance levels - GOV.UK.
