West Berkshire is seeking a dedicated and flexible Locum Social Worker to join its Children in Care Team. This role is essential in providing professional support to vulnerable children and young people. Key Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive casework to a caseload of children and young people, tailored to individual experience and capabilities. Maintain the highest professional standards and demonstrate a thorough knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and practice methods. Ensure the delivery of high-quality services that align with government and local initiatives, including but not limited to Working Together, Child Protection procedures, Looked After Children’s processes, and the Assessment Framework. Work in the office for one week, except during duty weeks, when the candidate will work on-site for their allocated duty day and at least one additional day. Core working hours are 9.00am – 5.00pm, with duty days starting at 8.30am. Total required hours are 37 per week, with Fridays being 7 hours. Flexibility to work beyond 5.00pm and travel out of area when necessary is essential. Essential Qualifications: Qualified Social Worker with relevant registration.
