Job Title: Head of Finance – Commissioning

Salary: Band 8c - £74,290 per annum

About the Role:
Meridian Business Support is seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Finance – Commissioning to lead and manage key financial commissioning processes for our NHS client based in Cardiff. This pivotal role involves oversight of provider activity and agreements, financial commissioning for resident activity, and strategic leadership in negotiation and management of healthcare agreements.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage provider activity agreements for out-of-area patients and resident commissioning activities.
2. Lead financial aspects of commissioning for the Joint Commissioning Committee (JCC), Local Health Boards (LHBs), and non-Welsh commissioners.
3. Oversee Long Term Agreements (LTAs), high-cost exclusions, and non-contracted activity.
4. Support and lead negotiations of Health Care Agreements for specialist services.
5. Develop systems to monitor activity and financial performance, identifying trends that may impact financial forecasts.
About You:
To succeed in this role, you will need:
1. CCAB professional accounting qualification.
2. Significant post-qualification experience in a senior management role.
3. Specialist expertise in NHS finance and commissioning processes and systems.
4. Proven track record in managing complex financial agreements and healthcare systems.
5. Excellent leadership and analytical skills with the ability to drive financial performance.
