If this sounds like the job for you, we’re on the lookout for an experienced engineer to lead our team at our Queens Road Bee Network depot.
You will be leading a team of dedicated professionals including Assistant Fleet Engineer, Workshop Managers, skilled and semi-skilled engineers, body makers, cleaners/shunters and be responsible for the depot premises, plant, and equipment.
You’ll love having the responsibility of supporting, advising and managing the team on a daily basis to maintain and repair our fleet of 150 buses, where you’ll also have the opportunity to manage our buildings and plant equipment.
It is a key role within the depot, and you will have autonomy over the team, stock, and people.
Reporting to the Assistant Engineering Director, the successful applicant will need to ensure the Company’s high standards, productivity and presentation are maintained and ensuring fleet availability while staying within budget guidelines. You will need to ensure that the needs of the Operating Department are met and that enough vehicles are available to meet the PVR.
Applicants must have a thorough knowledge of the PCV/HGV industry, as well as possession of an appropriate engineering qualification, and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels. Preferably come from a bus engineering background and have sound people skills, be able to prioritise and make decisions. You will ideally hold, or be willing to gain a Transport Manager CPC.
The ability to motivate and show strong leadership qualities to both skilled and unskilled staff is also essential.
