Randstad Student Support are recruiting for Specialist-one-to-one Study Skills Support Workers to work with students who have specific learning difficulties (SpLDs) studying at Universities and/or Colleges in Bedfordshire
The role is set to begin at the start of the new academic year and is a hybrid role. All successful candidates must be able to travel to the local University or college and offer both in person and online sessions.
As a Study Skills tutor you will provide learning support and academic guidance. This includes creating an individual learning plan that has been tailored to the student's needs and encourages them to become an independent learner.
As a Study Skills tutor, you are required to support students to:
Develop independence
Build on strengths and learning strategies
Create strategies around organisation and time management
Create action plans to stay on track with studies
Build on research skills - widening knowledge by using a variety of sources
Distinguish appropriate sources and how to correctly use references
Build on comprehension skills within reading and writing
The needs of individual students should be taken into consideration, ensuring that any concerns are addressed in a timely manner. It is expected that you act professionally and maintain confidentiality within your role at all times, sharing all relevant information with Randstad to ensure the best possible service to your students.
Requirements:
You must hold membership with one of the below relevant professional bodies. All students you will be supporting are funded by the DSA, all candidates providing this role must adhere to the qualification framework set out by the DfE

Experience of working with clients with specific learning difficulties
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Punctuality and reliability
Good organisational skills
Ability to manage a caseload of students
