Financial Controls Manager
Location: Birmingham or Manchester
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Manager to join our Business Solutions Business Partnering team. Based in either Manchester or Birmingham, this team provides decision support services to central functions such as Real Estate and Facilities Management, Technology, People Function, Risk, Finance, and Sales and Marketing, with a combined cost base of approximately £0.7bn.
Aligned with PwC's strategy of leveraging technology for better commercial outcomes, this role is integral to simplifying how we develop and access technology.
What your days will look like:
1. Collaborate with the Financial Control Centre of Excellence (FC CoE) and Finance Leads to ensure financial controls are implemented and monitored.
2. Act as a subject matter expert in applying the firm's accounting policies and procedures.
3. Ensure month and year-end books are closed accurately, reflecting complete records of business performance.
4. Lead the year-end process, including planning and spearheading the external audit.
5. Apply appropriate cost allocation methodologies and prepare reports for submission to the Financial Reporting Council.
6. Drive simplicity and efficiency in reporting and processes, leveraging technology and Management Information (MI) to identify risks.
7. Liaise with internal auditors on specific reviews.
8. Continuously improve financial control processes and best practices.
9. Provide financial control support to ad hoc projects, including the replacement of the firm's Engagement Management & Finance systems.

Qualification needed:
Must possess either ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CA (or an international equivalent)
