CWD Outreach Crisis Worker
We are looking for individuals who are passionate about improving outcomes for disabled children, to work in a new outreach service for children with disabilities in Norfolk.
Ideally, you will hold an NVQ level 3 in Health and Social care or equivalent subject, as well as knowledge of the challenges that families experiencing disability may face and have experience of working with disabled children and their families.
You will provide direct care (which will include providing personal intimate care and nursing tasks), intervention and support to young people in their own homes, with the aim of preventing family breakdown and young people being accommodated. The service responds to families experiencing care crises, supporting them to develop new strategies to manage any behavioural and/or care needs.
The Outreach Service works across Norfolk with children and young people experiencing learning/physical disabilities and may include those with complex health needs and challenging behaviour.
You will be a highly motivated, resilient and a positive team player with humour and empathy to help children and young people with disabilities thrive and reach their full potential.
The team works across the whole week (including weekends and bank holidays) and can include unsociable hours, night work, sleep ins and also being part of the on-call rota system. Additional enhancements are paid for weekends, bank holidays on call and sleep ins.
We provide a comprehensive induction programme as well as ongoing training to develop new and existing skills and encourage career progression.
If you would like an informal discussion or more information, then please contact Emma Tolhurst, Team Manager on 07884-699696.
