Roles that require PVG Membership
Please note that with effect from 1 April 2023, where a role requires PVG membership, candidates will be required to meet the cost of the PVG membership. This applies only to roles with a full-time equivalent salary of £30,000 and above (Teaching roles and jobs at Grade 11 and above (currently £30,285 per annum / £16.64 per hour).
The Council will pay for the PVG membership cost initially, either £18 for existing PVG scheme members, or £59 for non-members, and this cost will be deducted from an employee’s first FULL month’s salary payment.
Job purpose/about the role
To deliver quality education to assigned pupils and contribute to the professional, corporate life of the school in relation to pupils, staff and appropriate external bodies within the agreements of the SNCT.
This would be an ideal opportunity for someone with interest in ASC to develop their skills and knowledge while being a part of the outreach team. We are looking for a primary or secondary colleague to join our Service to support children and young people and to build confidence and capacity in mainstream settings across the City. The Service consists of 2 Teams:
1. Early Intervention Team – 2 SEYPs, 2 EYPs and 3 PSAs supporting children in Nurseries and P1-P2
2. Teachers Team - 7 Teachers and 1 PSA supporting children and young people in P3-S6
You will be part of a well-established team who are friendly and knowledgeable of individual pupils' needs. This would be an initial secondment until 4th July 2025 but may be extended if mutually agreeable. The post holder needs to hold as a minimum:
* Appropriate teaching qualification
* Full GTC (Scotland) registration in the appropriate subject/sector, or be eligible for such registration
