We are currently recruiting on behalf of a charity based in Birmingham which provide a variety of services for older people. They are recruiting for a Tenant Support Officer on a permanent full-time basis covering supported housing services on the outskirts of Birmingham.
The role is 35 hours per week, Monday-Friday paying £21,840 per annum to increase to £24k in April 2025. The successful candidate must have a clean driving license and access to their own vehicle and undergo an enhanced DBS check.
Day to day duties will include:
Manage supported housing services for older tenants ensuring full occupancy and quality service delivery
Communicate effectively with teams to ensure consistent service across all schemes
Support tenants in fostering a sustainable and inclusive community environment
Administer building maintenance and management per organizational policies
Assist tenants with support planning to maintain independent living
Provide rent account guidance and benefits advice
Identify and address tenant support needs creating and reviewing support plans
Conduct regular welfare checks and provide emergency support when needed
Assist with property allocations tenancy agreements and affordability checks
Welcome new tenants ensuring they understand the scheme's facilities and systems
Monitor contractors and report repairs per health and safety standards
Perform building inspections and risk assessments regularly
Encourage tenant participation in social and community activities
Supervise cleaning maintenance and gardening services for the scheme
Address safeguarding concerns promptly prioritizing tenant well-being
Liaise with alarm service staff regarding tenant safety and assistance
Facilitate tenant meetings promoting involvement in scheme management
Address antisocial behaviour through mediation and resolution strategies
Manage end-of-tenancy procedures including legal and financial matters
Attend required training and pursue housing qualifications if necessary
Perform other duties as directed to ensure the effective management of the scheme
