Join Thornford Park Hospital as an Occupational Therapist Assistant and help change the lives of men and women suffering from mental illness and complex care needs, including those with personality disorders.
Under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, you will support the service in delivering structured activities and assist in planning individual and group therapeutic interventions. You will build one-to-one rapport with service users to encourage participation and empower recovery.
You will contribute to the assessment, monitoring, evaluation, and modification of structured activities to measure progress and ensure effectiveness.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will receive regional support and have access to various training and online courses to support your career development and growth.
As an Occupational Therapist Assistant, you will:
* Assist Occupational Therapists, Nurses, and other MDT staff in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of individual care plans.
* Support service users in achieving their goals and accessing appropriate services.
* Maintain accurate records and enter details into healthcare records.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* GCSE/O-Levels (A-C) or a relevant NVQ2.
* Experience in a similar environment and mental health.
* Verbal and written communication skills.
Where you will be working:
You will work at Thornford Park, which comprises medium secure and low secure units and rehabilitation flats. The service provides a seamless internal care pathway supporting and empowering patients in their recovery and rehabilitation.
You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team to provide personalized assessment and treatment programs for males with mental illness and complex care needs, including those with personality disorders. Some service users may have histories of offending or may have failed previous placements.
