An exciting opportunity has arisen at Theatres in King George Hospital for highly motivated and driven Operating Department Practitioners with Anaesthetic or Recovery experience. We are one of the 8 Trusts in the entire NHS to be known as an established Surgical Elective Hub. We offer the best training and development programme for our staff. We are proud to offer pioneering cutting-edge technology having recently introduced the Da Vinci robotic General, colorectal, upper GI, Urology, Gynaecology surgeries and Stryker Orthopaedic robot for joint replacement surgeries in our department with 7 Operating Theatres. We are proud to announce that we will be opening 2 newly built ultra-modern operating Theatres in April 2024. As a senior theatre practitioner, with experience in multiple specialities, you will assist in integrated clinical leadership to care for patients in the Operating Theatre environment to the highest possible standard and to develop practice with support from the Team Leader. You will be a valuable member of our supportive theatre team. Main duties of the job
To contribute to the effective day-to-day operations of the Operating Theatres by providing skilled assistance to all staff during the administration, maintenance and termination of general, regional or local anaesthetics and surgical interventions, by undertaking Scrub/Circulating or Recovery duties.

Person Specification
Education/ Qualifications
* Operating Department Practitioner or Registered Nurse with Anaesthetic Nurse qualifications.
* Anaesthetic Practitioner/Operating Department Practitioner with Valid UK Professional Registration.
* ALS/ILS.
Experience/ Knowledge
* Essential knowledge of your own speciality and current Theatre issues.
* An understanding of skills and knowledge required to develop self and team members.
* Anaesthetic Practitioner/Operating Department Practitioner with practice experience - minimum 2 years.
Skills/ Abilities
* Able to work without direct supervision.
* Post Registration experience of working in Theatres.

Salary: £34,521 to £41,956 per annum inclusive.
