Residential Children’s Home Manager – Solo Placement (EBD Home)

About the Role
As the Home Manager, you will be at the heart of creating a nurturing, positive culture where young people feel safe, valued, and empowered. With the support of a strong management team, you will develop and maintain a therapeutic, supportive environment that aligns with Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Care Standards. Key Responsibilities
1. Regulatory Compliance: Oversee all aspects of the home’s operation, ensuring full compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations, Quality Care Standards, and safeguarding protocols.
2. Positive Culture and Therapeutic Environment: Lead by example to create and nurture a positive, therapeutic culture, promoting respect, dignity, and inclusivity for young people. Foster a warm, supportive atmosphere where both young people and staff can thrive.
3. Therapeutic Support for EBD: Build a nurturing and therapeutic environment tailored to the needs of young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties. Implement approaches that foster resilience, emotional well-being, and personal growth.
4. Individualized Care Planning: Lead the development and implementation of personalized care plans and risk assessments, ensuring they are regularly reviewed and updated in collaboration with the young person and relevant professionals.
5. Documentation and Reporting: Ensure all documentation, reports, and records are accurate, up-to-date, and meet the highest quality standards. Provide reports as required to families, management, Ofsted, and other involved professionals.
6. Safeguarding and Welfare: Maintain rigorous safeguarding standards, ensuring young people’s safety and well-being are the top priority. Implement and review safeguarding policies and procedures in line with regulatory expectations.
7. Team Development and Support: Collaborate with our experienced management team to enhance your skills and knowledge. Provide guidance, coaching, and supervision to staff, cultivating a culture of continuous learning and reflective practice.
8. Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with families, social workers, and external agencies, ensuring effective communication and collaboration for the benefit of the young person.
About You
To excel in this role, you should be:
1. Passionate about Quality Care: Driven by a genuine commitment to making a difference in young people’s lives, especially those with EBD.
2. Experienced and Qualified: Hold or be working towards a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management in Residential Childcare, with a proven track record in managing a children’s residential setting.
3. Compliance-Focused: Strong understanding of Children’s Homes Regulations, Quality Care Standards, and safeguarding requirements.
4. A Strong Leader: Skilled in managing teams, creating a positive, nurturing culture, and fostering professional development.
5. Resilient and Adaptable: Able to handle the demands of a solo placement home with a proactive and compassionate approach.
6. Additional Requirements: A full UK driving license and an enhanced DBS certificate (required upon appointment).
