We have a fantastic new opportunity for an Environmental and Sustainability Manager to join our team to develop and implement AMP’s environmental and sustainability strategy across all operational areas.
Working closely alongside the Group HSEQ Manager and Training Coordinator, this role involves strategic planning, implementation, and management of sustainability programs to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and promote sustainable practices within the Company and across our operations and energy assets.
The responsibilities of the role:
* Develop and implement the Company’s environmental and sustainability policies and strategies, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements, best practices, and goals
* Monitor compliance with environmental legislation and accreditations
* Oversee the environmental compliance performance of our biomass heating, flexible generation and battery storage assets including responsibility for managing emissions testing and environmental permit compliance
* Design and oversee programs to reduce the environmental impact of operations, including energy efficiency, waste reduction, and resource conservation
* Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to promote sustainability initiatives and report on progress
* Collaborate with operational teams to integrate environmental best practices into daily operations and projects and provide expert advice on sustainability trends, risks, and opportunities
* Prepare and present regular reports on environmental performance and sustainability initiatives to Senior Leadership Team and stakeholders
* Provide incidence monitoring and response to any environmental incidents
* Identify and implement innovative solutions to enhance sustainability and environmental performance
* Develop and oversee sustainable policies, ensuring suppliers and contractors adhere to environmental and ethical standards
* Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on environmental and sustainability practices.
What we are looking for:
A passionate and driven individual who enjoys working in a dynamic environment and has the following knowledge, skills and experience –
Essential:
* Knowledge of environmental legislation, compliance, and best practices
* Understanding of energy systems
* Demonstratable experience developing and managing sustainability initiatives, ideally within a multi-site Company
* Proven experience developing and implementing sustainability policies, and strategies
* Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, guide and develop cross-functional teams
* Excellent analytical skills to effectively analyse and interpret information, identifying & validating the key facts, including reviewing alternatives to determine advantages and associated risks
* Effective communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written, to influence stakeholders and colleagues across the Group
* A degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
* A full UK driving licence.
Desirable:
* IEMA Graduate membership
* Qualifications in risk management, environmental sustainability, or quality management systems (or equivalent experience).

Additional Information:
* Location: Based at our offices in Bridge of Allan, Stirling FK9 4HP or Fort William PH33 6SQ.
* Competitive salary to be discussed at interview
* Hours of work: 40 hours per week
* The role will involve some travel to AMP sites and other locations therefore a full UK driving licence is required.
