This is an exciting opportunity for a position as a Senior Commercial Financial Analyst for Softcat's very successful and growing Commercial Finance team. The Commercial Finance team was formed 9 years ago and has now grown to a team of 10 people. The Exec Leadership acknowledge that we have played a key role in more than doubling Revenue and Profit over those last 9 years.
We are a friendly, high achieving and resilient team, working cross functionally with all business departments, and adding value through insightful data analysis which guides operational and strategic decision making at the highest levels. In your role, you will be regularly meeting Directors of the business and can expect to be presenting to senior leadership and the CFO.

As a Commercial Financial Analyst, you will support Senior Management in delivering improved financial performance in their areas. Over time we expect the Commercial Finance Team to provide analysis on all areas of Softcat's business.
As Commercial Financial Analyst, you'll be responsible for:
* Producing new analysis on our performance across a range of variables.
* Proposing and implementing any improvements you identify to existing analysis, helping to make them robust and repeatable.
* Working closely with the Senior Management (including the CFO) and their direct reports on a day-to-day basis, using financial information to inform them on business performance or decisions.
* Supporting budgeting, forecasting and longer-term strategic planning across the company;
* Demonstrating aptitude for understanding numbers and making commercial recommendations from that information. You will need resilience to deal with the challenges that Senior Management will make when making significant decisions;
* Ensuring the non-financial Senior Management understand what your analysis shows and the data you present is suitable for the audience and provides meaningful direction to the business.
We'd love you to have
* Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with demonstrative experience in a Commercial Finance or FP&A role
* Experience of multinational expansion is helpful but not essential
* Results orientated, with a focus on providing meaningful information to Senior Management.
* Validated background of producing new analysis from scratch and improving existing work.
* Excellent communicator, outgoing and comfortable with different types of people.
* Must be able to articulate what their analysis shows and defend their recommendation on what to do next.
* Thorough approach with high level of accuracy and numeracy.
* An ability to work individually or collaboratively as required.
* Able to proactively lead on and drive larger projects
