About the role:
To be responsible for the cooking and preparation of meals, ensuring a healthy diet for all service users.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Responsible for the preparation and cooking of meals.
* Comply with the Statutory Regulations contained in the Health & Safety At Work Act, ensuring appropriate levels of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained in the kitchen and related areas.
* Plan and prepare in advance, facilitating smooth operations for carers during your absence.
* Ensure the kitchen is clean at all times, adhering to the daily cleaning schedule.
* Wash up, serve drinks, remove rubbish, and mop the floor.
* Carry out any other duties reasonably falling within the purview of the post, as required.
About you:
* Responsible for the cleanliness and general tidiness of the kitchen, maintaining required standards.
* Basic knowledge of cleaning procedures, materials, and equipment used in the home, with an awareness of potential risks.
* Maintain all equipment in a safe and clean condition.
* Report any faulty equipment and any defects or hazards.
* Keep an adequate supply of cleaning materials for use and ensure they are stored safely.
* Work to a rota as required.
* Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.
* Aware of Health and Safety policy.
* Undertake training regarding COSHH and attend regular reviews and updates.
* Attend employment appraisals with a designated member of staff.
* Aware of Fire Procedure and attend six-monthly reviews.
