MANE are currently recruiting for a Production Worker for our Aerospace client based in Bedfordshire. (Permanent).
Job Description
Role Overview
This role involves manufacturing and welding various assemblies using recognized trade skills, under the supervision of a Team Leader. The goal is to produce high-quality components that meet Aerospace standards, according to drawings and routing specifications.
Core Responsibilities
1. Assemble and weld using resistance/seam welding machines to meet customer requirements, utilizing various metals and hand skills (stainless steel, titanium, Inconel).
2. Assemble and weld with automated TIG welding machines to customer specifications, using stainless steel, titanium, and Inconel, applying hand skills.
3. Form and trim bellows on fully automated, semi-automated, and manual bellows forming machines.
4. Collaborate with the laboratory to ensure sufficient weld testing.
5. Work according to drawings and route card instructions.
6. Obtain and maintain Operator Verification approval stamps.
7. Maintain efficiency and meet production standards.
8. Assist in implementing new techniques and improving work methods.
9. Ensure general housekeeping and cleanliness in the shop.
10. Proactively suggest ideas for cost reduction and process improvement in production.
11. Be familiar with and adhere to all relevant AWPS and operating procedures.
12. Understand and follow company Health and Safety and Fire policies, attending required updates.
13. Display a flexible attitude towards work and teamwork.

Required:

Desirable:
1. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
2. Ability to understand and work with weld data cards and specifications.
3. Experience operating a lathe.
4. Experience welding tubes.
5. Proficiency with measuring equipment.
6. Experience in the aerospace industry.
7. Operator verification experience.
Shift Pattern:
Day Shift: Monday to Thursday, 6:00am to 3:45pm, or 7:00am to 4:45pm. Potential for inclusion in a Late Shift rotation, Monday to Thursday.
