The Energy unit delivers services to clients globally across several sectors including hydropower, nuclear, defence, thermal generation and transmission & distribution networks.
Together we provide integrated engineering and project management services across the project lifecycle – from concept and design to construction and operations, through to decommissioning or repowering and life extension.

About the role
The Energy unit, specifically the Thermal, Gas and Liquids (TGL) business is seeking to recruit a Principal Electrical Engineer to help deliver the ambitious growth of our Technical Advisory and Owner’s Engineer (TA & OE) Team. Our goal is to substantially increase our capability and revenue by 2030.
The services that the TA team offer include helping lenders and investors to assess, understand and manage technical, environmental, and social risks relating to their assets for mergers, acquisitions, and sales.
The services that the OE team offer include providing support to owners/developers of energy generation assets through all phases of a project from development to operation. Services include feasibility studies, procurement and tendering support, design review, construction and commissioning supervision.
In TGL, our primary technologies include OCGT, CCGT, reciprocating engines, EfW and Battery Storage.
In this role, you’ll collaborate with talented teams across the UK and Europe, working alongside clients and specialists to deliver innovative and technically excellent solutions.
Key responsibilities:
* Manage and execute electrical projects adhering to safety and quality standards, schedules and budget.
* Lead and mentor electrical teams across our project portfolios.
* Provide input into project planning and execution, including budgeting and resource requirements.
* Assign tasks with clarity on scope, quality, and deadlines to the delivery teams.
* Review and approve project deliverables to ensure they meet required standards.
* Attend engineering meetings and liaise with clients and other disciplines.
* Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, including CDM, safety, environmental, etc.
* Collaborate with project and engineering managers and maintain strong client relationships.
About you
* Degree in Electrical Engineering.
* Chartered status and membership of a professional body.
* Previous experience of supervising engineering staff.
* Experience in influencing engineering practices and outcomes.
* Up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations, legislation and standards.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
