Job overview
We are looking for an experienced endoscopy procurement officer to lead a small procurement team based in the GIMs Endoscopy Single Managed Service.
The post holder will be responsible for the consumable procurement and equipment service management arrangements for the Endoscopy Units at Manchester Royal Infirmary, Trafford General Hospital, and North Manchester General Hospital. In addition to the procurement of the decontamination consumables and chemicals for the endoscope decontamination units across the service.
Main duties of the job
1. Line manages and be the first point of contact for the Endoscopy Equipment/Procurement officers based at MRI, TGH, and NMGH endoscopy sites.
2. Work closely with the Decontamination Service/Equipment Manager, Decontamination Manager, and Endoscopy Unit Managers to standardise the use of common products in the Endoscopy Units and Decontamination areas.
3. Set up and maintain a quality stock control system for all endoscopy and decontamination products used by the service ensuring adequate stock is available for a seven-day endoscopy service across all sites.
4. Build and maintain a database asset register for all equipment used within the endoscopy units, recording service validations and maintain an ongoing equipment replacement plan for all equipment used by the service.
5. Coordinate leasing, repair, and control of equipment and materials passing through the department/s.

Person specification
Skills & Knowledge
* Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
* Knowledge and understanding of NHS procurement process. Proficient with Integra and Supply chain ordering systems
* Proven ability to work with basic computer Software packages including Microsoft Word/Excel
* Experience of asset register control
Qualifications
* 4 GCSEs including Maths and English (grade C/4 or above) or equivalent qualifications/experience
* Procurement and Supply diploma qualification, or equivalent experience within an endoscopy procurement environment.
Experience
* Accustomed to dealing with stakeholders within an endoscopy unit setting.
* Experience in the ordering of consumable products required in an endoscopy unit
* Care and management of Endoscopes and Endoscopy equipment when returning to manufacturers
* Experience of T-Doc Track and Trace system for scope inventories
* Experience of data collection and database creation.
