Job Overview: A&S Asset Management is looking for an experienced Project Manager to oversee our large-scale fire remedial works (FRAEW) projects across the UK.
This key role will be responsible for ensuring that projects are executed efficiently, safely, and within budget, aligning with A&S Group’s commitment to high-quality standards and client satisfaction.
The Project Supervisor will collaborate closely with the Project Manager and other team members to drive successful project outcomes, taking charge of on-site activities, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring compliance with fire safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Coordination and Supervision of Site Manager:
* Supervise fire remedial works on large-scale projects, ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and regulations.
* Coordinate the daily on-site activities with Site manager, including labour scheduling, materials delivery, and equipment allocation.
* Ensure effective communication among all on-site personnel, subcontractors, and stakeholders, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
* Monitor site safety and enforce compliance with health, safety, and environmental protocols, conducting regular inspections to mitigate potential risks.
* Project Execution and Quality Control:
* Review and interpret project plans, drawings, and specifications to guide on-site activities.
* Oversee site management of installation and remediation of fire safety systems, ensuring work is completed to high-quality standards and in compliance with fire safety regulations.
* Conduct quality checks at various project stages to ensure adherence to FRAEW standards and resolve any issues or discrepancies promptly.
* Track project milestones and report progress to Contracts Manager, adjusting schedules and resources as needed to keep the project on target.
* Commercial Awareness and Cost Control:
* Monitor project costs and maintain a focus on budget adherence, addressing any potential cost overruns in coordination with the Contracts Manager & Group Finance team.
* Evaluate and document any scope changes, ensuring accurate reporting of additional work and securing client approval for variations.
* Collaborate with the Contracts Manager to optimise resource allocation, material procurement, and labour efficiency, reducing costs without compromising quality.
* Client and Stakeholder Liaison:
* Maintain positive relationships with clients, suppliers, and stakeholders, serving as the on-site point of contact for project-related queries and updates.
* Represent A&S Group professionally, providing regular progress updates and maintaining transparent communication with clients regarding timelines and project milestones.
* Address and resolve any client concerns, ensuring satisfaction and proactive problem-solving throughout the project lifecycle.
* Documentation and Reporting:
* Keep accurate and up-to-date project records, including daily logs, site reports, Quality Control/Assurance and Health & Safety documentation.
* Prepare and submit weekly progress reports to the Contracts Manager, summarising site activities, challenges, and any required adjustments.
* Assist with post-project evaluations, including feedback on performance, lessons learned, and suggestions for future project improvements.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
* Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory role on large-scale fire remedial works (FRAEW) or related projects, with a strong background in fire safety compliance.
* Knowledge: In-depth understanding of FRAEW regulations, fire safety systems, and industry best practices.
* Commercial Skills: Solid commercial acumen with the ability to manage budgets, control costs, and understand the financial implications of project decisions.
* Certification: Relevant qualifications in construction, fire safety, or a related field; SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) and/or SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme) preferred.
* Skills:
* Strong leadership and team coordination abilities, with a track record of managing successful projects.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, adept at liaising with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
* Proficient in project documentation and reporting; familiarity with CRM systems would be a plus.
* Personal Qualities: Organised, proactive and solution-oriented with a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
